The Prize

Artist John Backland has created a one-off piece based on the ‘WHAAM’ design with a colour twist. This will be instantly recognised by any Paul Weller fan.

The piece has been signed by Paul Weller himself (front) and all of the 2022 band (back) and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity which has also been signed by Paul.

John Backland is an artist that combines his skills in woodworking and many other forms of art and design. As an avid fan of the great musician, Paul Weller, he specialises in reproducing artwork that replicates Paul's guitars, guitars which he used in his days with The Jam.

The pieces are 'to-scale' non playable pieces for aesthetic purpose only. The materials used are of the highest quality and the attention to detail is absolutely fantastic. Paul himself is the proud owner of a couple of these pieces that hang at his home and studio.

John says: "Donating this absolutely one off piece never to be repeated artwork, to War Child for their cause is something that I'm very proud to do, I hope it raises an amount it deserves to. It is personally signed by The Guv himself on the front and the reverse has the added bonus of all the band members from the 2022 tour. Paul has also signed the certificate of authenticity. This is a very unique piece, to be auctioned in aid of a charity that Paul and the band share close links."

Every day, our local teams are in communities and in refugee camps creating safe spaces for children to play, learn and access psychological support, and we specialise in responding rapidly to emergency crisis situation to deliver immediate and critical care to help to those who need us most, when they need us most.
