Born in Pomezia in 1953, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome in Set Design with Maestro Toti Scialoja.
In 1981 he was awarded an art study grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the “Atelier 17” in Paris. In 1983 he won with merit the role as lecturer of Media Arts at the State Are Institute in Pomezia. In the late 1970s, his artistic research activities mainly focussed on graphics, attending and collaborating with the National Chalcography of Rome. At the same time, he organised a regional school of applied arts. In the 1980s he spent a short time as performance manager and was also the interpreter and author of: “Morte dell’Altrio” (1980 Pomezia), “Expandersi” (1981 Rome).
He entered the ambit of art graphics and was invited to participate in an International Art Festival in Morocco where he was given the chance to experience oriental culture.
In the 1990s he started a long period of artistic experimentation, working with various materials amd finishing (in recent years) with metal, burnt wood and metal wire. He has participated in a number of collective and personal exhibitions and projects of social commitment.
From 1993 to today, Renato Flenghi has participated in numerous personal and collective exhibitions.
