Lega del Filo d'Oro
Not being able to see, hear or speak are the premises of a condition of absolute isolation. Yet even for those living in this condition, there is still space to connect with others and to overcome the barrier of incommunicability that surrounds them.
Since 1964, Lega del Filo d’Oro has pursued the goal of providing assistance, education, rehabilitation and support, enhancing residual abilities and promoting the highest possible level of autonomy for people who are deafblind or have multiple psycho-sensory disabilities.
The Foundation achieves its mission through highly specialised interventions, offering each individual — child, young person or adult — a personalised rehabilitation programme and the appropriate tools to communicate with others, build emotional relationships and live a life marked by dignity and independence to the greatest extent possible. These activities are only partially funded by public resources; thanks to the solidarity of many supporters, Lega del Filo d’Oro has been able to expand and diversify its services, increasingly responding to the needs of people with deafblindness and multiple psycho-sensory disabilities, as well as those of their families.
Today, Fondazione Lega del Filo d’Oro operates in twelve regions through its Centres and Territorial Services in Osimo (AN), the organisation’s national headquarters, Lesmo (MB), Modena, Molfetta (BA) and Termini Imerese (PA), as well as its Territorial Offices in Novara, Padua, Pisa, Rome, San Benedetto dei Marsi (AQ), Naples and Rende (CS).
