Pietro Mancini was born in Tropea and lives in Pomezia (Rome). He works in the Departments of Mental Health where he coordinates creative workshops aimed at users of the structures. An "omnivorous" artist, he uses technology applied to photography and sculpture.
His first exhibition experience was in 2007 with Codice 01, in the Bramante Cloisters in Rome. In 2008 in Palermo the Gallery of Contemporary Art hosted his first personal exhibition. In 2010 he designed the Officina Tom project, a workshop of visual arts in which art and psychic distress are brought together with the aim of inserting the work of artists/users who frequent the workshop within the circuit of contemporary art. In 2011 he participated in the Venice Biennial and his Orizzoni Sospesi exhibition was displayed in the Nur Gallery in Milan, in collaboration with Arsprima.
The protagonists of Pietro Mancini's work tend to be young men, a characteristic for which he was invited to take part in the contemporary art project within the Giffoni Film Festival where he won the Critic's Award in 2012.
Over the years, Pietro Mancini has been invited to a number of exhibitions - both personal and collective - throughout Italy and abroad.
