The Claudio Quarta Vignaiolo winery is auctioning off the "50 + 10", a limited edition bottle produced in 2015 to celebrate the 60th birthday of the wine producer Claudio Quarta and the 10th anniversary of his wine project. At 50 Claudio left his brilliant career as a genetic researcher and pharmaceutical entrepreneur, after achieving success in the United States, to realize the dream of becoming a winemaker. And so his three cellars Moros, Tenute Eméra and Cantina Sanpaolo came to life. Three different wineries in three very well-known wine-growing areas in the South of Italy. 

The "50 + 10" is a unique wine, a blend made exclusively with the best wines from each of the three wineries: Taurasi Riserva DOCG 2009 (Cantina Sanpaolo, Torrioni), Oro di Eméra - Primitivo di Manduria PDO 2012 (Tenute Eméra, Lizzano) and Moros - Salice Salentino Riserva 2012 (Cantina Moros, Guagnano).

This is a unique magnum from a limited edition of 650 bottles, each one featuring a different label. The labels are imaginatively shaped, colorful ceramic tiles, hand-made personally by the master Franco Fasano from the Nicola Fasano company in Grottaglie, home to ceramics.

The auction winner will also receive an invite to spend a day with the producers at Tenute Eméra, the winery located in the heart of the Manduria and Lizzano wine producing area in Puglia, Italy. The day will be a journey into the world of Claudio Quarta Vignaiolo, including a visit to the biodiversity vineyard, one of the richest biodiversity collections in the world, the historic Casino Nitti and the Primitivo vineyards. During the visit of the three-floor underground cellar you will taste a selection of Claudio Quarta Vignaiolo wines and will round off the experience with an exclusive lunch in the restored sixteenth century masseria, which now houses an elegant wine bar.
