Mario Schifano was an Italian artist, painter and director. Along with Franco Angeli and Tano Festa, he was a leading figure in Italian and European Pop Art.

A firm presence on the international cultural scene of the sixties, he was considered a prolific and exuberant artists who loved all society things. He was passionate about new painting techniques, and among the first to use the computer to create works, processing images on the computer and transferring them back to emulsified canvases (the "computerized canvases").
