Francesco Totti (Rome, 27 September 1976) is an Italian former footballer, who played as a striker or midfielder, world champion in 2006 and European runner-up in 2000 with the Italian national team. Considered one of the best Italian players of all time, as well as among the strongest in the world of his generation, during his competitive career he always played for Roma, a team for which he was captain from 1998 to 2017, for a record total of 19 seasons, winning the 2000/01 Scudetto, the third in the club's history, two Italian Super Cups in 2001 and 2007 and two Italian Cups in the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons.
