Official Tour de Langkawi 2016 points classification leader jersey signed by Andrea Guardini.
Guardini competed in his first professional race in 2011 in Malaysia, at the Tour de Langkawi, winning the first stage in the sprint, becoming the first Italian to win his debut race; he then won another four stages of the Malaysian competition, the second, sixth and seventh, always in the sprint. In his first season as a professional he won eleven races, in Qatar, Turkey, Slovenia, Portugal and the Giro di Padania, establishing himself as one of the most promising athletes of Italian cycling.
In 2012 he won the second, third, fourth, eighth, ninth and tenth stages of the Tour de Langkawi. On 24 May he won the eighteenth stage of the Giro d'Italia, from San Vito di Cadore to Vedelago, beating world champion Mark Cavendish in the sprint. He was called up in June by the coach Bettini for a three-day gathering in Levico Terme from 19 to 21 to prepare for the Olympics and the world championship. Later on that month he won three stages at the Tour de Qinghai.
In August 2012 he signed a two-year contract with the Kazakh Astana team and in February 2013, in his new jersey, he won the seventh stage of the Tour de Langkawi, from Kuantan to Dungun.
After eleven years as a pro and 43 career victories, he decided to retire.
Guardini has won many sprints, especially in Asia, he holds a record of achievements for the Tour de Langkawi in Malaysia. Over the courser of his career he wore the following jerseys: Farnese Vini, Astana, UAE Emirates, Bardiani CSF, Giotti Victoria - with which he ended his professional career.
