Cannondale Pro Cycling Team race jersey embellished with the signature of Ivan the "Terrible".

Ivan Basso, Italian cycling champion, professional from 1999 to 2015. Nicknamed Ivan the Terrible, he is considered one of the best cycling stage racers of the 2000s.

He began cycling as a child and became Under 23 world champion in Valkenburg, Holland. The doors of professional cycling then opened up to him and he made his professional debut at the 2000 Giro d'Italia with Boifava's Riso Scotti Vinavil; he was later called up for his national team.

In 2001 he took part in his first Tour de France and in the years to come, his tenacity would lead him to take ever higher positions in the competition rankings. In 2004 he reached the third step of the Tour, in 2005 at the Giro d'Italia he won the 17th and 18th stages, a Giro that he won in 2006 and 2010.
