After an experience in confectionery and the invention of the Perugina Bacio, Luisa Spagnoli founded the Angora Spagnoli company in 1928 in Perugia, where she began producing shawls and knitwear. It was Luisa Spagnoli's son, Mario Spagnoli, who transformed his mother's business into a real clothing industry and opened the first Boutique in Perugia in 1940. From 1953 the company passed into the hands of his son Lino Spagnoli (grandson of Luisa Spagnoli), who succeeded in strengthening the company and combining the production of clothing with knitwear. Today the clothing company is called Luisa Spagnoli S.p.a. and boasts a sales network consisting of 152 Italian boutiques and more than 52 single-brand stores abroad, as well as multi-brand clothing stores. The CEO and president of the company is Nicoletta Spagnoli, daughter of Lino Spagnoli and great-granddaughter of the founder.
