About the artist

Andy Warhol was an American artist known for leading the Pop-art movement and considered one of the most influential figures in contemporary art. He extended Duchamp's ideas by challenging the very definition of art and became a leading Pop-art artist of the 1960s.

Hughes, former director of the Foundation until his death in 2001, and calligraphic expertise by Professor Gian Mario Maccanti of the University of Modern and Contemporary Art of Rome.
