Samir Handanovič is a Slovenian footballer, goalkeeper and captain of Inter Milan. Considered one of the best goalkeepers of his generation, he began his career in Slovenia and then moved to Italy, where he played for Udinese, Treviso, Lazio, Rimini and again for Udinese. He has played for Inter since 2012, of which he has been captain since 2019 and with which he won an Italian championship, two Italian Super Cups and two Italian Cups. With the Slovenian national team, of which he was a member from 2004 to 2015, he played as a starter in the 2010 world championship. He is second among the most present foreign players in Serie A, behind Javier Zanetti (615), and the first goalkeeper by number of appearances for Inter in Serie A. He holds the record for penalties saved in the history of Serie A.
