Banksy Peckham Rock Wooden Postcard British Museum

It is an official wooden replica of Banksy's 'Peckham Rock' wall art for the British Museum as part of the iObject exhibition.

Banksy's 'Peckham Rock' was a patch of concrete showing a supposed prehistoric figure pushing a shopping cart. It was placed in The British Museum in 2005, accompanied by an authentic certificate, and stood there for three days before anyone realized something was amiss.

On the back of the replica is a copy of the text of the information label originally placed with the wall art.

The Banksy Peckham Rock, a brilliant sold-out replica of Banksy's Peckham Rock, snuck into the British Museum by the artist in 2005 as an official exhibition, only to be seen by someone three days later and thus become known.
