The Prize

Catherine Bercusson is an English artist who has exhibited in London and Florence. She originally trained and worked for many years as a clinical psychologist and uses this experience in her work. While she has always made art, her more formal training began with the artists Claire Gavronsky and Rose Shakinovsky, initially at the Lorenzo de' Medici School in Florence and subsequently in many of their workships over the last 20 years. She is a member of the London Print Studio where she learned to print. She lives in London and Tuscany where she runs an artists' residency near Greve-in-Chianti, which runs from May to September.

The Cause

With the Eliminate project, Kiwanis International and UNICEF are collaborating in order to eliminate maternal and newborn tetanus, a severe illness that kills 49,000 kids and many women every year.

We are about to reach our goal of raising 110 million USD to eliminate the illness in every country in the world. Up to February 2016, we rased 107 million USD. While we are about to reach our goal, Kiwanis International aims to raise the last funds missing. Club and members will then increase the enthusiasm for the final rush.

Now more than ever, we are determined to finish what we have started. Moms and kids in 20 countries are depending on us. They wait for our funds to buy vaccines to save lives and protect their future. Eliminating this illness will increase the health conditions of many families.
