"Slipknot" by Mr Savethewall + studio visit.
- Mixed technique on canvas
- Size: 100 x 70cm
Reflection of the artist on the current situation in Ukraine.
"The knot is something unresolved, tight, closed, twisted. This knot is anachronistic, oppressive and needs to be undone. It is a slaughterhouse knot, which is frightening, because if it carries on, it will become a slip."
Pierpaolo Perretta, aka Mr. Savethewall, is an Italian artist originally from Como. He has always been opposed to the illegal use of public walls so instead he creates his murals directly on removable media.
His art name is, fittingly, "Mr. Save the Wall": a declaration of his desire to safeguard urban furniture. He loves to call himself a Post Street Artist in a break with street art that has now entered museums and galleries.
In his works Mr. Savethewall employs the languages of street art and communication.
Mr. Savethewall's works clearly contain ironic and critical comment on today's society. His pieces present strong, direct and targeted messages.
