Since 1834 the seat of government of the Order of Malta has been in Rome, where it is guaranteed by extraterritoriality.
The proceeds obtained from this sale will be used to support the “Make a WISH - Water for Life” project with the aim of guaranteeing access to water to those who need it in some areas of Serbia, where adequate networks are lacking water, or to support the needs in the leper colony supported by the Sovereign Order of Malta in Egypt.
