The Prize
Unique match issued player shirt, signed by the player Phil Foden!
The shirt design is a unique one-off design featuring the Club's global charity campaign logo 'Cityzens Giving for Recovery' in place of the Club's main shirt sponsor Etihad Airways. All the funds raised from the sales of this shirt will be matched by the City Football Group and will be put towards City in the Community’s mental health programme as part of the Cityzens Giving for Recovery campaign.
The shirt also features the NHS heart shaped logo, and the 'Black Lives Matter' sleeve logo.
All player names were replaced with 'Black Lives Matter' to show the Club's & Players' support for the campaign.
Each shirt comes with a certificate of authenticity.
The Cause
In Manchester, the long-term impact of the Coronavirus crisis on young people’s mental health has been highlighted as a major concern amongst parents and carers. Physical activity, including football, can play an important role in improving the mental health and well-being of young people.
This new project, part of Cityzens Giving for Recovery, will support young people by creating dedicated mental health resources to reach new and existing City in the Community participants. The project will embed mental health awareness and understanding across all City in the Community projects targeting thousands of 14-25 year olds, with project staff trained to have the knowledge they need to identify and support participants.
