For Dario Ballantini it has always been natural to paint, he started as a boy and never stopped.

His was an art eager to tell, restless like his hometown, Livorno.

Ballantini has always sought a personal expressiveness aimed at the human being, he had two phases: the first characterized by a style reminiscent of Egon Schiele, with figures almost sick of living, the second by a vague metaphysical, nocturnal and mystical hint it seeks existential answers, in an attempt to appease the excessive "aggressive" gestures that would explode in subsequent periods developed from the beginning of 2000.

Its exhibitions in about 40 years of activity have reached museums and galleries all over the world including Paris, London, Cambridge, Miami, Amsterdam and Prague.

Recently Ballantini has also produced some bronze sculptures and exploring a world so far only bordered by his television activity, he has created three works of video art.
