About the artist
Peter Carl Fabergé (St. Petersburg, May 30, 1846 - Lausanne, September 24, 1920), of French origin, was a Russian jeweler and goldsmith. Fabergé Eggs are works of jewelery created as Easter eggs and designed at the court of the Tsar of all Russia by Peter Carl Fabergé of the homonymous company, between 1885 and 1917, using metals and precious stones. The first egg dates back to 1885, when Fabergé presented the first of these creations to Tsar Alexander III, becoming the most famous jeweler in the world.
