This is a vintage offset lithograph from Volume 2 of "Miró's Lithographs", by Mourlot in 1975. Only 5000 were printed of the edition, this particular piece being after Miró's commission detailed below, the original pulled in 1953, and listed Mourlot 209 [pl.4].
The piece is vacuum sealed and mounted on acid free black to white matting board, with corroborative details verso the support in lead, and in exemplary condition for its period (never framed).
It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity detailing the history and characteristics of the article.
About Joan Miró
Born near Barcelona in 1893, Miró turned to art after moving to Paris. In 1923 his work saw a breakthrough when his symbolic-abstract style surfaced.
Considered one of the most important artists of his time, the poetic vision, drama and cheerfulness of Miró’s work shows a fascination with the primitive art of cave paintings.
