Win this exceptional Olympic Torch from the Turin 2006 Winter Olympics.

After being lit in Olympia, Greece on November 27th, 2005, the Olympic torch crossed the whole world, arriving in Turin on February 10th, where, inside the Olympic Stadium, the torchbearer Piero Gros delivered it to the hands of Deborah Compagnoni, three-time Olympic Alpine skiing champion.

On March 28, 2006 the torch was brought to his Holiness the Dalai Lama, who signed it and added the phrase "I pray for all sentient beings to live in happiness." The torch was subsequently subjected to a treatment that made this written phrase permanent. This is the only Olympic torch autographed by the Dalai Lama.

After this meeting, the torch was carried for more than 100 km by the Italian climber Tom Perry, known for climbing mountains barefoot, to the base camp of Makalù, the fifth highest mountain on Earth and from there to the 8450 m summit by the alpinist Mario Vielmo. In this way the message of the Dalai Lama, of brotherhood and union among peoples, has reached one of the highest points of the planet, with the hope that from there it will spread as much as possible.

The torch was designed and built in steel by Pininfarina, with a shape reminiscent of a ski and the famous Mole Antonelliana. It is 770 mm tall, 105 mm wide, and weighs 1.9 kg; it has an outer shell in die-cast aluminum alloy, while the inside is made of steel, copper and technopolymers.
