Thiago Emiliano da Silva, known as Thiago Silva (Rio de Janeiro, 22 September 1984) is a Brazilian footballer, defender for Chelsea and the Brazilian national team, of which he is captain. Considered one of the strongest defenders of his generation, in 2008 he moved to AC Milan, where he won an Italian championship and an Italian Super Cup. In 2012 he was signed by Paris Saint-Germain, where he won seven French championships, five French Cups, six French League Cups and seven French Super Cups. He has been playing for Chelsea since 2020 and has won a UEFA Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup. With the Brazilian national team he has won a Copa America and the Confederations Cup.
