About the project:

Inspired by Sir Ernest Shackleton, photographer Enzo Barracco decided to undertake an expedition in Antarctica.

Enzo and his team travelled to Antarctica, recording its wilderness through photography. The photographs formed the basis of his book ‘The Noise of Ice’ which was written by Enzo with a foreword by Sir Ranulph Fiennes and an introduction from the Director of the Royal Geographical Society and Vogue Italia.

In the foreword of the Book, the noise of ice Antarctica by Enzo Barracco, Sir Ranulph Fiennes says:

"I believe Enzo's work is a great way for key conservation messages to be relayed. Everyone has a role to play in conservation and protecting areas of the world that are at risk. Art, such as Enzo's work, is a hugely effective way to communicate this message. It plays a crucial educational role, but it is also accessible and appealing."

Enzo Barracco is an Italian environmental photographer, who lives and works in London, New York and Hong Kong.

His work is based on the desire to establish a dialogue with nature, with a purpose of raising collective action to be more attentive and respectful to the natural world, and create a body of work that can be evidence of what climate change is now.
