The Michel Roux Jr Denim Bear

A unique handmade bear made from a pair of jeans donated by Michel Roux Jr.

The bear was created as part of The Great Teddy Bear Project, which features 21 uniquely crafted teddy bears made from jeans donated by famous names from the worlds of music, TV and OUTER SPACE!

Handmade by Canterbury Bears at their workshop in the Kentish countryside, each bear is embroidered with the signature of the celebrity whose jeans they are made from.

The project is organised in support of Together for Short Lives, the UK’s leading charity for the 99,000 children with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition and their families.

About Michel Roux Jr:

Legendary chef Michel Roux Jr is the chef/owner of Michelin 2-starred Le Gavroche in Mayfair, London which he took over from his father, the late Albert Roux, in 1991, gradually changing the style of cooking to his own – staying true to the restaurant’s roots of classic French cuisine but with
a slightly lighter, more modern twist.

Michel’s TV career has included MasterChef: The Professionals, Food and Drink, Michel Roux’s Service: First Class Chefs, Hidden Kitchens, Saturday Kitchen, Hidden Restaurants and Remarkable Places to Eat.

Always keen to support and develop the hospitality industry, Michel is Co-Chairman of The Roux Scholarship, along with his cousin Alain Roux. The Roux Scholarship is a renowned competition for chefs under 30 who are working in the UK, giving them the opportunity to win a three-month stage at any three-star Michelin restaurant in the world, all expenses paid.
