Set Design for Federico Fellini Signed by Emanuele Taglietti.

The design dated 2018 is a tribute to the stage designs that Maestro Taglietti created for " Il viaggio di G. Mastorna, detto Fernet" ("The journey of G. Mastorna, known as Fernet") (1966), a film by Federico Fellini starring Mastroianni that was unfortunately never made. According to Vincenzo Mollica it is «the most famous never produced film in the history of cinema».

The director attempted to make the film several times but a series of setbacks prevented it from ever happening. In this work it is possible to see the face of Marcello Mastroianni alongside reconstructions of some famous monuments that were actually made for the film sets but unfortunately never used.

This design has been reproduced in a single copy on fine cardboard and signed by Emanuele Taglietti. The photos show him signing the work and holding it in his hands.

Print number : 1/1
Dimensions: 33 cm x 48 cm

Emanuele Taglietti, born in 1943, is an Italian illustrator, mostly known for his covers for digest-sized, adult comics.

After attending a local art school, Emanuele Taglietti studied design at the Experimental Centre of Cinematography, in Rome. He worked as a decorator and an assistant director for around thirty movies, including Federico Fellini's Juliet of the Spirits, Dino Risi's Dirty Weekend, and others.

By the early 1970s, the popularity in Italy of the digest-sized fumetti comics, whose themes were mostly sex, violence, and horror, was at its peak. Taglietti moved on to work as an illustrator for Edifumetto, the biggest publisher of fumetti in Italy. He painted more than 500 covers for such books as Zora the Vampire, Sukia, Mafia, 44 Magnum and Wallestein the Monster.
