Matteo Manassero holds the record for being the youngest winner of the European Tour and has also held the record for being the youngest winner of the BMW PGA Championship since 2013.

In April 2010 came the crowning achievement of his splendid amateur career with a historic performance at the Masters: he made the cut at just 16 years and 11 months, achieving something that had never been done at his age. This amazing result earned him praise from champion Tom Watson, winner of eight majors who played alongside him in the same tournament and describes him as a "player of great class".

Then came a professional career punctuated with great achievements.

Manassero really established himself in 2013. At the BMW PGA Championship, a tournament considered second only to the Open Championship, Matteo caught the attention of the spectators, triumphing at the play off and setting the record for the youngest winner in the history of the event.

At the end of 2017 Matteo received the "Fair Play of the year" prize at the "Gazzetta Sports Awards", an event dedicated to Italian athletes.
