300 is a 2007 film directed by Zack Snyder with support from Frank Miller, a film adaptation of the comic novel 300; the latter was in turn inspired by another film, The Hero of Sparta, a semi-historical tale of the Battle of Thermopylae which took place in 480 BC. The film was shot with the chroma key technique to reproduce the images of the original comic. It was released in theaters in the USA on March 9, 2007.
