Along with Franco Angeli and Tano Festa, Schifano represented a fundamental pillar of Italian and European Pop Art. He was considered a prolific, exuberant artist and lover of worldliness who identified with the international cultural scene of the sixties.
Schifano's 1960 debut in Rome was the beginning of a long artistic career that lead him to meet with the major artists of the time around the world and organize solo exhibitions in major European cities and beyond, from the Center Pompidou in Paris to the Venice Biennale.
