Born in Vo 'on 1 December 1935, he first studied in Bologna then later continued his studies at the atelier of his uncle Sepo in Paris, a well-known poster designer of international fame specialized in advertising graphics.
Follwing an informal start he began to move towards pop themes. Pozzati's cold and metallic art is associated with surrealism, simple but also magical and fantastic. An example of this is For an impossible modification (1964), in which a composition of fruits that is mirrored by his painted paradoxical double.
This is one of the artist's best known works and was exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 1964 (the artist's first appearance at the Biennale, which was followed by four other prestigious appearances: in 1972, 1982, 2007 and 2009). Also worthy of note is Documenta Kassel in 1964.
