Fūbutsushi (風物 詩) is one of those Japanese terms that is hard to translate into other languages. Its meaning could be explained as "things - feelings, scents, images - that evoke memories of a particular season". Gloria Zaccariello lives in Venice and she deals with diagnostics for the conservation of cultural heritage. Art has always been his life partner, especially in the years spent in Japan. A fundamental period in her artistic career, which influenced her perception of the world and her way of expressing herself through painting. The word "fūbutsushi" sums up the spirit of her works well: the minimalist features and the essentiality of the subjects reflect that season of her life and even today, when she paints, she translates the "things" she experienced during her Japanese experience, into strokes and colours.
