"The sculpture radiated light and the terracotta added a nobility that, along with the harmonious gesture of the bow being drawn back in a plastic pose, really struck me when I saw it in a market in the Camargue. I couldn't resist: it came back home to join the others". Alviero Martini

Alviero Martini was born in Cuneo on March 13, 1950, where he completed his artistic studies and soon began to travel while working as a window dresser. In 1987, his search for "something unique" led him a date with destiny . In Moscow he found a fascinating and faded old map. He glued it onto an old suitcase and thus he stumbled upon the idea to create an innovative line of baggage embellished with geographic maps. 1990 marks a successful year across the globe. Recognized as the creator of a new travel concept, he rapidly became well known as the 'traveling stylist'.
