Georges Chauvel (1886-1962) was one of the best loved French sculptors. Born in Elbeuf, he studied at the Ole des Beaux-Arts; He was a Knight of the Legion of Honor, which is the highest recognition that a French citizen can receive. At the time he was considered a modernist who expressed himself through his figurative work. He created works depicting mythology, fairy tales and people in their spare time. His sculpting career took off after the First World War.

Alviero Martini was born in Cuneo on March 13, 1950, where he completed his artistic studies and soon began to travel while working as a window dresser. In 1987, his search for "something unique" led him a date with destiny . In Moscow he found a fascinating and faded old map. He glued it onto an old suitcase and thus he stumbled upon the idea to create an innovative line of baggage embellished with geographic maps. 1990 marks a successful year across the globe. Recognized as the creator of a new travel concept, he rapidly became well known as the 'traveling stylist'.
