Virgilio Guidi attended the technical institute while also taking evening courses in the free School of Painting.
He received training in painting in the workshop of a Roman restorer, leaving in 1911 to study at the Academy of Fine Arts.
Light and space are the fundamental themes at the crux of his aesthetic research, particularly attracted by the works of Cézanne and Matisse.
The drafts of his work have always been monumental, making the artist extremely important in the panorama of Italian aesthetics, not only in 20th century art, but also afterwards.
