National cash register dating from the early 1900s.
Produced for the Italian market, this antique heirloom is in perfect condition and in working order, complete with its original paper scroll.
The first cash register was invented by James Ritty after the American Civil War. John H. Patterson, blessed with strong intuition and a nose for business, immediately took up the invention to found the NCR (National Cash Register) company in 1884 in Dayton, Ohio, becoming the first company to produce and market mechanical cash registers in the USA.
