This is your chance to have your portrait painted by Antonello Arena, one of the biggest names on the Italian contemporary art scene and exponent of Venice Biennale 1988.

The artist will create a unique artwork for you using acrylic on canvas in a maxi 100x70cm format. 

Arena will use a high resolution photo sent by the winner after aution closing to create a true-to-life portrait using his progressive technique: close up you have the perception of an abstract but the farther away you get, the more it looks like a portrait.

The artist has used this technique to paint some of the beautiful stars as well as sporting champions, from Scarlett Johansson to Cristiano Ronaldo, Maradona and Charlize Theron.

The portrait will feature at maximum 2 subject as a full body, torso or close up of face and, therefore, the image sent should have these characteristics. You can also choose to be portrait together with your pet!

The commission will take approximately 15 working days to produce. 

At a young age Arena became part of the Nouveau Réalisme movement based in Nice, France, created by Pierre Restany, one of the greatest European art critics of the 20th Century, and followed by Mimmo Rotella, Christo, Arman and many other artists who went on to become famous. 
It was, in fact, Restany who described Arena as being "the most innovative Italian artist of the middle generation".

Arena is also artist to the stars. Recently, he was commissioned to create a sculpture for the beachfront of Salina in memory of the legendary actor Massimo Troisi.
