The Prize

One of our two gold medal winning Slalom Canoeists ETIENNE STOTT or JOE CLARKE will be your host for this unique event. This is the awesome thrill-seeking opportunity to go white water rafting down the Olympic Course at Lee Valley; the scene of the 2012 medal rush for the GB Canoeists. Other venues in Cardiff, Glasgow and Nottingham are also available to the winning bidder.

These rafting dates can be delivered on days of mutual convenience between you and the athlete and are being staged from July 2021 to help raise money for good causes as part of the One Sporting World initiative, in return you will have the chance to participate in a VIP day and support our good cause.

The day starts with a Q and A insight from one of the GB Athletes on their medal success. Then we had you over to your guides. After safety briefing and swimming practice throughout the afternoon you will have 75 minutes of exhilarating rafting fun.

This is proving to be an ideal afternoon for team building and adrenaline junkies alike, you also get to meet an Olympic champion. If choosing the 8 person option you will be joined on the raft by the GB Athlete.

All participants must be confident swimmers, over 14 years of age and under 18 stone.

Additional guests are welcome to watch.

The Cause

Ava Helene Atkinson was born on May 26, 2014, but because she was born so early, she experienced many health issues.

Ava was moved to the neo-natal unit where she was put on a ventilator to help her breathe. Hours later, Ava’s condition had not improved, and after discussions with the consultant it was decided that due to the severity of the health issues she had, we as parents had to make the most devastating decision of our lives, together with the care team, to withdraw treatment. Minutes after coming off the ventilator Ava passed away peacefully with her family around her.

Whilst at the hospital we were given a keepsake box in which we were able to have memories of Ava. These precious memories are there for us to look at and cherish. Her keepsake box has brought comfort to us all, so much so that we have decided we would like to put together our own memory boxes for other parents who have suffered the loss of a child.

We have decided to make these keepsake boxes ourselves and hope that these boxes will be looked at for years to come.
