Born in Carrara on December 20, 1995, Irama officially made his debut on the recording scene when he took part in the 67th Sanremo Festival in 2016 with the single Cosa remainerà in the "New Proposals" category, but rose to fame in 2018 when he won the seventeenth edition of talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi. He went on to compete at Sanremo, in the 2019 edition, with the song La ragazza con il cuore di latta, in 2021 with La genesi del tuo colore and in 2022 with Ovunque sarai.
He was also the winner of Amici Speciali, a spin-off of Amici di Maria De Filippi, dedicated to raising funds for the Civil Protection for the COVID-19 emergency.
He has racked up 31 platinum records and 3 gold records. His highest placed album was Plume that went triple platinum.
