The Prize

Pitchshifter are a British five-piece electronic-metal band from Nottingham, United Kingdom formed in 1989. The band was started by bassist and vocalist Mark Clayden, lead guitarist and programmer Johnny A.Carter and rhythm guitarist Stuart Toolin.

The band gained attention with their 1998 release www.pitchshifter.com for its fusion of electronic music like drum 'n bass with metal and rock, which has been compared with other electronic groups like The Prodigy. The band is also known for the early industrial metal sound with downtuned guitars and the use of drum machines and being cited as one of the originators of the genre along with Godflesh.

Ahead of their much-anticipated performance at 2000 Trees Festival, they are playing an intimate warm up gig at the Bristol Exchange on the 7th July. Tickets sold out immediately, but we are excited to be able to offer two tickets, plus a signed setlist from the evening for auction.

The Cause

Metal For Good uses the positive values of rock, metal and other alternative subcultures to make a positive difference in communities.

We provide grant funding to incredible community groups and organisations who use music to change lives.

We believe that the rock and metal community is truly unique – we’re brought together through a love of great music and a sense of belonging. Through this shared identity, lives are often improved; we feel a part of something bigger, that we are accepted, and that someone has ultimately ‘got our back’.

The values of rock and metal, and as a result – Metal For Good, are lived daily by the music community. We have identified five values which are most important to us:

Togetherness, Individuality, Passion, Integrity and Belonging.

We work with musicians, industry partners, promoters, and individuals to raise funding to support community projects and innovative ideas. We also generate income using the profits from our Metal For Good merchandise.
