Zambrelli (1947 - present) is a well-known Italian contemporary painter. His painting is marked by a strong psychological dimension, and rich in social symbols that are dramatic at times.
A decisive stylistic turning point came when he took a trip to London, between 1974 and 1976. In the English capital the painter 'discovered' the light of the large skies painted by Constable and Turner which lead him to a new interest in the relationship between light and color and to dedicate himself to landscapes. In his works one senses the need to go beyond the purely descriptive to reach a more decisive symbolic dimension, in an attempt to give space to interiority.
His creative path was defined by Alessandro Gusmano in a 2001 text: "Since his early studies at Brera, in Marco Zambrelli's works painting has competed with the art of printing. He loves them both and the charm of the painting and the colors combines with the equally fascinating techniques of the engraved print that naturally results in several colored plates.
