"Numerazioni doppie" is part of a series of works where the random nature of the line determines the filed of color. The basic disorder of the linear traces attempts to be contained in an order that is continuously recomposed and reconstructed in the mind without success.
The title, "Numerazioni doppie" ("Double numerations"), ironically reveals the idea of control in numbering, which struggles to find its double. In the gap between image and title there is space for possibilities that open up in the imagination of the viewer.
Paolo Iacchetti comes from a background of scientific studies. He was born in Milan and after graduating worked as a chemist until 1978. In 1982 he graduated from the Brera Academy and his first exhibition was held in 1983, followed by numerous other personal and collective projects in Italy, Germany and Switzerland.
In the 90s he took part in the Michetti Award, the Biennials of the Permanente in Milan and the Quadriennale in Rome. In the 2000s his work was the focus of specific reviews on abstract and radical international art and he exhibited in Asia and America. In 2011 he exhibited at the Venice Biennale.
His works are present in Italian and foreign private and public collections. He has been a lecturer at the Polytechnic School of Design in Milan, the Catholic University of Brescia and the Brera Academy in Milan.
