The Nebula collection is drawn out of the interstellar clouds of dust and gas in space - regions where stars begin to form. The Nebula is made from Banaca fabric, manipulated to obtain a voluminous shape reminiscent of spiral nebulae.

Currently, the studio mainly works with lighting products made of Banaca fiber, cultivated from the Philippines and woven by a community of weavers found in the province of Bicol. The proceeds of the products go into livelihood development programs for the weavers and their families.

This piece is the first prototype of the Nebula suspension lamp and comes with a certificate of authenticity. It was displayed for the first time during the DesignCircus event in 2018 and received a Special Mention from the jury at Salone Satellite 2019. The lamp was recently featured on a TG2 Rai broadcast and has appeared in Marie Claire Maison. It has also been displayed at the Rinascente store in Milan at a pop-up event in collaboration with Salone Satellite.

Mirei is a Milan-based multidisciplinary designer specialized in furniture, lighting and decoration. In 2017 she graduated from the Politecnico di Milano with a Masters degree in Design and Engineering. In 2019, she founded Studiomirei. In the same year, she won the Salone Satellite special mention award for the Nebula lamp during the Salone del Mobile.
