Not only has Michael Palin had a career as one of the funniest actors, writers and producers of all time, he is also a prolific travel writer and documentary presenter. Michael rose to fame as part of the Monty Python team, and in 2000 he was awarded a CBE for his services to television. He has kindly donated these Rockport shoes in a size 8.5 to Small Steps. Not only has Michael signed the shoes, he also wrote "My right shoe" and "My left shoe," just in case you weren't sure. And to make the shoes extra special Michael wrote that the shoes had been with him in the Sahara in 2001 in the Himialayas in 2004.

This is the third time Michael Palin has put his best foot forward. This year, he has donated signed Paul Smith shoes that he wore while shooting on location. He has also included a handwritten note which reads "shoes specially provided by Paul Smith - another great fan of travelling - used on Brazil series for BBC1."
