The hotel-restaurant Lokanda Devetak, located in a village six kilometers from Gorizia and 30 from Trieste and Udine and founded in 1870, has always been run by the Devetak family, now in its fifth generation.

Over the years the restaurant has kept pace with modernization from generation to generation whilst maintaining its real soul: the joy of spontaneous and respectful hospitality accompanied by cuisine inspired by genuine traditions.

The "gostilna" (trattoria in Slovenian) offers its customers produce from its own land, creating dishes with new flavors whilst maintaining the peculiarities of the small Slovenian and Central European karst homeland. The menus are seasonal and great attention is paid to the choice of raw materials, using mainly local produce, accompanied by fresh homemade bread. Vegetables, fruit and aromatic herbs are picked fresh from the garden. The cellar is carved into the karst stone and boasts 12,000 bottles from all over the region, but also from the rest of Italy and the world.
