A portrait of Marilyn Monroe by Anna Pennati!
This auction is for a pastel portrait of Marilyn Monroe, hand painted by Anna Pennati. Dimensions: 29.7x21cm
Anna Pennati, art teacher at Brera, is one of the most loved Italian artists. Among her collection are portraits of former French President, Valerie Giscard D'Estaing and the Iron Lady, Margaret Thatcher.
In 2012 the artist, on the 50th anniversary of the death of Marilyn, has created a traveling exhibition dedicated to the Hollywood star. The first leg was held in Milan during Cartoomix, where Anna's drawing of Marilyn was used as the official poster of the fair. The second exhibition was held at the "Seicentro" Hall in the City of Milan during the "Fuori Salone". The third exhibition was held at the "Museum of film poster" in Milan. The fourth was at the XII International Castle City exhibition alongside works by Andy Warhol, Mimmo Rotella, Ugo Nespolo, Marco Lodola and many more. They are followed by other exhibitions in Italy and abroad. The work auctioned here is therefore an important and unique collectable piece.
Anna Pennati is available to make a personal dedication to the winner.
