Maria Sharapova is one of the most well-known and influential female tennis players of all time. Sharapova has won twenty-nine WTA singles titles, including four Grand Slam singles titles.

She has been a repeat donor for the past four years. Last year, Maria donated the shoes in which she beat Venus Williams at the Sydney 2013 Australian open.

This year for the 2017 auction, Maria has donated pink and purple trainers made exclusively for her by Nike in a size WS 9.5, signed on the toe of both shoes.

"The Small Steps Project is a great charity, as it brings more awareness to something most of us can’t even imagine exists; children living in rubbish dumps. The organization provides help to immediate needs and later guides many young lives into the world of education to give them a hopeful start in life. I would like to support this project with a pair of my own shoes in the auction to help provide some more necessities to children out there living in this horrible condition."
