Heinz Schattner has the sense of the image within him. The image and its authenticity. Through a sensitive use of the camera, this combination translates into images that are rich in humanity, beauty and a sincere reflection on the profound meaning of life. Schattner first came to photography at a very young age and at just 14 one of his shots was published for the first time.

Born in Germany, Schattner matured artistically in Paris and London and has always loved Italy, where he currently lives and works. He was introduced to the world of photography by internationally renowned artists with whom he had the chance to work as an assistant from a young age. He first set out on his own in the world of fashion. Among his first important collaborations are the Italian magazines Vogue Bambini and Vogue Uomo belonging to the Cond Nast group, followed by numerous others around the world. Further on in his career he became artistic director of television advertising campaigns, as well as creater of photographic books.

Looking back it is clear that for Heinz Schattner fashion has always been the key to accessing provocative and though-provoking contexts and moods. He portrays the imperfections of women and men as something sublime. While focusing on the subject, be it a human figure or an object, he never neglects the context that surrounds it, offering glimpses of authenticity that time will not be able to erase.
