The Mazzei family, with its experience in the world of wine, produces excellent wines that are emblematic of the Chianti Classico appellation. The central point of their wine production is Castello di Fonterutoli, the historic heart of Chianti Classico both from the point of view of the territory -and for wine production.

Siepi is a “cru” of Sangiovese and Merlot grapes in equal proportions, an exemplary expression of how the land of Chianti leaves its mark even in vines of non-native origin. The grapes come from one of the oldest vineyards in the Chianti Classico area - a heart of six hectares in the center of the homonymous plot located 260 meters above sea level - and make it a top wine of exclusive character.

Since its origins Siepi, owned by the Mazzei family since 1435, has always worked with respect for the territory. A unique position, a special microclimate, the intuition of the early Eighties to plant Merlot as an ideal complement to Sangiovese in a particularly suited "terroir" give life to a wine with a perfect balance between elegance, power and complexity.
