Magnum of Amarone "Virgo Moron" della Valpolicella, 2012 - Vigna '800.

The classic Amarone della Valpolicella Virgo Morgon is the wine that identifies the Vigna '800 farm. This excellent Amarone, made only with top quality grapes, takes its name from the hill of the vineyard it comes from.

Here the soils are calcareous of medium texture and 200 meters above the sea. The vines provide excellent Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella grapes; they are aged between 20 and 30 years, with good planting density (production per hectare approx. 80 quintals). Processing phases: the harvest is carried out strictly by hand, then moving on to drying in the drying room for about 100 days, a period in which the grapes drop in weight by 35-38%.

In this phase the clusters are carefully cared for and checked to keep them intact and healthy. The vinification takes place in a traditional way: in January the grapes are gently pressed with daily pumping to extract all the aromas and color that characterizes this wine.

The fermentation takes place in steel, while the refinement is obtained first with a year and a half in small oak barrels (225 liters) that give the wine roundness of taste and structure, then in the bottles for at least another six months.
