Takehiro Tomiyasu is a Japanese professional footballer who plays right back or central defense for Arsenal and the Japan national team. After starting his career with Avispa Fukuoka, Tomiyasu spent spells with Belgian club Sint-Truiden and Bologna before joining Arsenal in 2021. He was called up to the Japan senior squad in 2018, having previously played at youth levels. In 2022, he competed in the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup, coming on in the second half against Germany and Spain and starting in the round of 16 against Croatia.
