Founded in 2005 with the merger of the Saeco and Lampre teams, the team competed under an Italian license until 2017 when the sponsor Lampre was replaced by a pool of companies from Abu Dhabi supported by bicycle manufacturer Colnago. The undisputed star of the team in the last two seasons has been Tadej Pogačar, winner of the last two Tour de France.

Davide Formolo and Valerio Conti have signed the jersey on the front, making it a unique collector's item.

A professional rider since 2014, in 2019 Formolo became the Italian road race champion. His other major successes include winning the fourth stage of the 2015 Giro d'Italia and ninth place at the 2016 Vuelta a España, making him the youngest rider in the top 20 of the standings. In 2017 he competed in the Giro d'Italia as captain for Cannondale, finishing in tenth place in the final standings.

Valerio Conti turned professional in early 2014, competing with the Lampre-Merida team. In his first year as a pro he ranked sixth in the Italian time trial championships and in October he also managed to win the Bruno Beghelli Grand Prix. In 2016 he took part in the Vuelta a España, winning the thirteenth stage. In 2019 he was selected for the Giro d'Italia and finished in second place on the sixth stage, also becoming the leader of the race to earn the pink jersey. He maintained his lead until the Pinerolo stage. In 2020 he racked up another victory, four years after the last, winning the Matteotti Trophy.
